Scholarship

The Scholarship has been postponed to a later date

Eligibility

  • High school senior enrolled in a Chicago Public School 

  • Must come from single parent home

  • Accepted and enrolled in a 2- or 4-year degree program

  • Attend 5 Rise Foundation workshops; register here.

To Apply

​All applicants must submit an essay no longer than 500 words. The question prompt is listed below. You must submit your essay using the google form linked below on our website. If you have any issues submitting your responses, email it as a PDF to ctyler@therisefoundationchicago.org.

QUESTION PROMPT:

Tell us your experience during the pandemic. 

  • How was it adjusting to online learning?

  • How have your relationships with your peers and family changed or improved during this time?

Selection Process

​All students that meet the above criteria and submit an essay will be considered. A panel of educators will review the essays and select two recipients to award a $500 scholarship for college costs, such as books, school supplies, housing costs, moving fees, etc.
